MORE INFORMATION

Consultations are by appointment only with the patient's regular doctor. The development of continuing doctor patient relationships is essential to effective treatment. We will endeavour to make the appointment with your doctor at a time that suits you. Alternatively, should your doctor not be available, we will offer you an option to see another doctor.

Appointments

Our practice uses an appointment system. Each appointment is usually allocated 15 minutes.

  • 15 minute appointments is for 1 issue

  • 30 minute appointments are for multiple issues or mental health concerns

Please ask the staff at the time of booking if you require a longer appointment. We allow “urgent” appointment times each day for patients who need urgent medical care on the day.

If you need an appointment for any reason, including scripts, referrals, skin checks, check up or anything not urgent, please book ahead. The doctors fill up quickly, so please book in advance whenever possible.

We do hold a few "walk-in" appointments for URGENT matters.

If you are booking an appointment for your child or another family member, they must be present for the appointment.

If the patient is not present at the time of the appointment, a private fee will be charged and the doctor may be unable to provide appropriate medical care until the patient is available.

Due to Medicare guidelines, if a patient is not present at the time of the appointment then you are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.

Home Visits

Home visits are at the discretion of the individual Doctor. Please ask your Doctor if you may be eligible for this service.

Referrals

Referrals to specialists and other health professionals requires a consultation with your doctor. It is a Medicare requirement that you see a Doctor each time a referral is required. This includes initial referral as well as follow up referrals.

Repeat Prescriptions

Your Doctor will generally prescribe enough medication to last until your next appointment.  It is a Medicare requirement that you see a Doctor each time a new script is required.

Communication & Phone Calls

Phone calls to the Doctor interrupt consultations. Our receptionists will give the Doctor a message and/or help as much as possible with the enquiry.

Problems needing an involved discussion require an appointment with your Doctor. Our receptionists may need to ask the nature of the call to ascertain the urgency if making an appointment, however they are not medically trained and are not permitted to give medical advise or discuss a medical problem with you.

We do not provide results or consultations via email for confidentiality reasons, as recommended across the healthcare industry. Email are not considered a secure form of communication.

If you are unable to attend your appointment you must cancel your appointment at least 4 hours in advance, or you will be charged the full cost of that appointment. This fee does NOT have a Medicare rebate.

We are happy to reschedule appointments subject to availability.
